Our Story
The Online Physics Teacher began with a simple mission: to make quality physics education accessible to everyone. After 20 years teaching physics in public schools and 15 years providing one-on-one online tutoring, I recognized a significant gap in the homeschool education market.
My journey combines formal education (a BS in Physics and MEd in Physics Education) with New York State teaching licenses in Physics, Earth Science, and Mathematics. But my most valuable education has come from helping thousands of students overcome their struggles with physics concepts.
Why Physics Matters
Physics is not just another subject to check off a list—it’s how we interact with everything around us. From the way we move through the world to the technology we rely on daily, physics principles govern our experiences. By developing a solid understanding of these fundamental laws, students gain not just scientific knowledge, but critical thinking skills that transfer to every area of life.
Our Evolution
What began as one-on-one tutoring has grown into a vision for comprehensive physics education tailored to homeschool families. I noticed that many of my clients needed help with specific homework problems, which inspired our growing Solutions Library. When I discovered that many homeschool families either skipped physics entirely or outsourced it to other institutions, I recognized the need for a program that would empower parents to guide their students through this essential subject.
The first phase of our expansion gives every family access to professional physics instruction that works with any curriculum. As we grow, we’re developing a premier physics course incorporating feedback from the families we serve.
