The Physics Mastery Program

The Physics Mastery Program comes in two versions, Linear and Spiral. The Physics Mastery Program-Traditional has been designed as a traditional linear course where concepts are built sequentially, while the Physics Mastery Program–Saxon is built around the Saxon program’s spiral approach. Each program contains the same videos and covers the complete syllabus, the only variation is in the order in which the videos are presented. Both options are also available as a Physics Classroom Package for up to 10 students.

The complete course will cover 6 major sections:

• Mechanics: The study of forces and motion
• Energy: Types and transformation of energy and how it shapes our lives
• Waves and Light: How light, sound and electromagnetic waves react
• Electricity and Magnetism: Static, circuits, electric fields, magnetic fields, and electromagnetism
• Modern Physics: The atom, quantum theory and nuclear applications

Each topic includes video lessons, labs, video demonstrations and supplemental problems (detailed answers available in the Video Solution Library).

Linear Path: Traditional approach where concepts build sequentially

Think of a linear model as a staircase. You start on one flight, climb it all the way up until you reach a landing. Once you are there, you change direction and climb the next flight. In a linear course, you start with one topic and continue building until you finish the topic, then you pivot and go to a totally new topic.

A sequential (linear) approach is ideal for students who:

• want topics introduced one at a time
• need to build a depth of understanding before moving to new concepts
• prefer structured, methodical learning

Spiral Path: Innovative approach with recurring topic visits

A spiral curriculum is like a spiral staircase. Every step you climb changes direction and often require multiple points of support. Think of these supports as the individual units in physics. As you climb, you will continually revisit those topics with each day being focused on a different topic. You build depth of understanding by constantly revisiting the topics.

A spiral approach is ideal for students who:

• wants each lesson to be an independent learning module
• likes when topics are revisited multiple times throughout the year, adding depth with each pass
• wants to keeps concepts fresh and reinforced in their minds
